SOS: Sperms Are Crying for Help
Despite our body’s natural mechanism keeping the testicles in the scrotum at a temperature 1.5-2.0oC lower than the abdominal
temperature to protect the sperms from damage due to high temperature, ironically, our environment on Earth is hostile to the sperms:
food additives, coloring, preservatives and agriculture insecticide residues. Also air and water environmental contamination due to
chemical industry; ionizing radiation, indiscriminate use of antibiotics, female hormones, as well as various sexual health food also
affect the male fertility. Phthalates (a softener) found in toys, food packaging, vinyl floor, wallpaper, detergents, lubricating oil, nail
polish, hair spray, soap and shampoo, etc., are notable as it interferes with hormones, reduce the sperm number and quality. Avoid
obesity, saunas, steam baths, marathons, prolonged cycling, all smoking and excessive drinking, tension and stress. Place mobile
phones and laptop computers away from the testicles. Take more leek, bean sprouts, fish (lysine-rich), beef, liver, kidney, prawns,
oyster, mushrooms, nuts (nucleic acid-rich) and food rich in zinc and vitamin E. It pays to be careful always!
