“Laughter is the best medicine”. A University (U) of Maryland Medical Center study used ultrasound to
detect a 22% increased blood flow after a comedy: maybe related to endorphin release. A Loma Linda
U researcher opined: as stress reduction improves memory, humor therapy is advocated. A U of North
Carolina study found subjects claiming “Very happy” to survive longer than “Not so happy” ones: happiness
is more important than social security. A U of London study found laughter and acclamation induced the
most significant brain magnetic resonance imaging changes. Keep smiling by: (1) Improve interpersonal
relationships: seek actively to share your unhappiness with your good friends (2) Be more objective on all
matters; don’t let subjective feelings predominate: modify your requirement appropriately and life is easier
(3) Relax through taking deep breaths, brisk walking, swimming or taiji, etc. (4) Take time to relax and enjoy
life with your family; strive to contribute to Society (5) Be positive and optimistic: life would definitely be
easier (6) Seek help promptly; avoid procrastination: it may worsen stress (7) For problems, nip it in the
