At
present, nearly
all
of
the early choriocarcinoma
are
cured
by
chemotherapy.
The
cure
rate
of
advanced
choriocarcinoma
(including
liver
or
brain is
metastases)
treated
with
combination
therapy
in hospital
is
about
80%.
Howerer,
the
prognosis of
drug-
resistant
choriocarcinom
is rather
poor.
ln
recent
years,
a
group
of
drug-resistant
choriocarcinoma
patients
were
referred
to
our
department.
Most
of
them
had
already undergone
8-10
courses
of
chemotherapy. We
treated
these
patients
with new
combination
therapy
(chemotherapy
Vpl6,
DDP,
BLM, Radiotherapy,
and immunotherapy).
The
results
were
quite
good.
The
3-yr cure rate
of
drug-resistant
choriocarcinoma
was
60%. lt reached advanced
level
at home
and
abroad.
Case
1:
A
drug-resistant choriocarcinoma
patient
with lung and
brain
metastases
treated
with
76
courses
of
chemotherapy
in
another
hospital had coma
and paralysis.
After
new combination
therapy,
she gained complete recovery, 6
years passed, disease was
free.
Case
2:
A
drug-resistant choriocarcinoma
patient with
bilateral
pulmonary
masses
and brain
metastases.
She had
already
undergone 6
coureses
of
chemotherapy and
was
referred
to
our
department.
After
new combination
therapy, she gained complete
recovery,
10
years
passed, she lived in
good
health and returned to
normal
work.
From
above study, we deem
that
patients with drug-resistant
choriocarcinoma
should
be
treated
as
early
as
possible
with
effective combination therapy,
most
of
the
cases
can
still
be
premanent by
cured.
