BEDROOM
As
we spend
1/3
of
our
life-
time
in
the bedroom,
attention
to
details for
the
sake of
our
health
is
worthwhile. When get-
ting
up
in
the morning,
or,
when
going
to
bed, there should
be
increased air
exchange,
e.9., by
opening the
windows
for
30
minutes, or, by turning on the
exhaust fan
for
15
minutes.
Apart
from
"wet-cleaning" the
bedroom
furniture and floor
regularly,
the
air
filter
of
the air
conditioner must
not
be
forgotten. As smoking
would
seriously contaminate the bed-
room
air,
never
smoke
in the
bedroom.
Avoid using synthetic
materials for decoration
-
they
emit
harmful
chemicals
that
may
irritate
the
respiratory tract
and may even cause sensitiv-
ity
reactions,
let
alone
poisoning.
As
the
beddings are
in direct contact with
the
body,
wash
them
regularly. When
one
comes
home from
work,
never
lie down on
the
bed with
the
clothing on
-
these
clothing
could
well
be
covered
by dust,
dirt
and even antigens,
e.9.,
pollen, hair,
woolen fibers,
feather,
etc.,
gathered
from
out-
side
the
home,
so
that the bed-
room would
be
harboring
all
these
harmful particles and af-
fect the
health
of the
people
sleeping
in
the
bedroom.
