THE PINE VALLEY
VILLAGE:
DEATH FROM POISONING
WITHOUT
DEADLY
POISONS;
HOMICIDE
BY STEEL
NEEDLE:ANCIENT CRIME
MYSTERY REVISITED!
Mr Fu
with
his
wife
Ms Lu
lived happily
in
a
scenic village -
Pine Valley
Village in Mid-Western China. One
day, Mr
Fu
apparently had died from falling down a slope after
working
in
the fields. When the Village police
informed
the County
Police,
Chief lnspector
Feng of
the County's Criminal lnvestigations decided to
enlist
the
help
of
Forensic Pathologist Dr
Liu
who found a large-size sewing needle that had broken (probably due
to
forceful
hammering) in Mr Fu's head apart from 3 areas
of
heavy bruises and skull fractures, also
likely
to
be due
to
heavy blows.
Later,
they found the club possibly
made
from
a
freshly cut
pine
tree near
Mr Fu's
house.
lt
was stained with group AB blood, matching the victim's. Known
to
have extra-marital affairs, Ms
Lu
was highly suspected but was cleared because of a strong
alibi.
Another widower Mr
Han
was then
sus-
pected as he also had an affair
with
Ms Lu. ln Mr Han's home, they
found
heavily blood-stained clothes and
a bamboo knife, both were stained
by
the same
group
AB
blood. The shock was
the
mysterious death of Mr
Han.
This was
later
found to
be
due to a mysterious poisoning - Mr Han's daughter had purchased
10
tons of
silica mineral soil
but
the
roof
of the storeroom was leaking; when
it
rained, poisonous gas was
released
when the minerals reacted with water
to
release a poisonous gas. Poisoning incidents are
now
occurring
even
in
villages!
