tliss Walg developed hypertension when she was only seventeen.
She had constant dizzy spells. She later was diagndsed to have
suffered from congenital stenosis of the renal artery. The condition
causes a decrease of blood supply to the kidneys which affects an
increase of renin secretion by the kidneys. This e*cessive production
of renin reacts with a liver substrate to produce angidtensin that
causes constriction of the btood vesselS resutting in high btood
pressure. lt, was after a veno-vascular reconstructiie operation that
her blood flow to the kidneys was restored and her blitod pressure
was back to normal.
