Diabetes
Mellitus
can
normally
be
divided
into two
major
Upes:
IDDM (Type l) and NIDDM
(Type
ll).
The
former type mainly
related
to
the
immunological
diseases
inside the patients'
body
and should
be
treated
by
injecting
insulin.
The
latter type may
be
caused
by deficiency of
the
receptor
or some
other environmental
factors,
its therapy does
not
necessarily
require insulin
injection,
but
can
normally be
treated
by regulating
the
diet.
The
researches
on the treatment methods
of
these
two
types
of
diabetes mellitus,
based on
previous
achievements, have made satisfactory
progress
at the moment.
