Mitral
valve
prolapse syndrome
is a
common
valvular
disease
of
heart which
has
a
morbidity
rate
of
5-10%. Younger
and
middle-aged women
have the
highest morbidity.
Major
symptoms
included
dizziness,
asthenia, anxiety,
palpitation, chest
distress,
chest
pain and
etc.
Most
of
the patients have a
good
prognosis,
but
some
of
them may
have heart failure, rupture
of
chordae
tendinca, infectious endocarditis and transient cerebral
ischemia,
The
morbidity
of
malignant arrhythmia
is
a
high
risk factor leading
to
sudden death.
Related
treatment
should
be
adopted
when
heart
failure, infectious endocarditis and malignant arrhythmia
appear.
Those
patients under
the age
of
45 should
use
small
dose
of
aspirin
or
"Tanshin"
tablets and etc to reduce
platelet
aggregation,
which
can
help
to
prevent
the
attack
of
transient cerebral ischemia.
